More often than not, they'll be held in Romsey at Forest & Cove but I may change location occasionally! I also offer 1:1 or small group classes too for a more personal, focussed class and can come to you for those.

Intro to Traditional Sign Writing

Immerse yourself on this one-day sign writing course, where you will learn about the creation of letters, good typographical layout and the basics of traditional hand painted sign writing.

Learn the foundational skills for good sign writing, the correct techniques and letter anatomy. Discover how to break the rules of type in the right way to make all your hand lettered pieces stand out.

With your new-found knowledge, create your own hand painted sign to take home, along with the kit and knowledge to keep learning.

Sign Writing 2.0

A follow-up class after joining me on my intro course. You can also take this class if you've got experience in sign writing, you understand individual letterforms and already have the ability to scale up letters.
In this workshop you will dive deeper into brushwork and painting on different surfaces, utilising various methods to end up with deeper knowledge and a lovely hand painted sign to boot.

Chalkboard Basics

Everything from letter anatomy and sketching in chalk to adding illustrations and finishing the piece in chalk pen, you can expect to gain a solid understanding of how to create beautiful chalkboard signs in this workshop.
The skills here are also transferable to anything you can write on with a chalk pen - slate, ceramics and even windows (we will also touch on reverse window writing too - it's a different skill!) Full or half day workshops available.
